We updated our support package this year, allowing all customers to access support from our main tech guy Jon. As a Web Guys customer, if you need ANY help with your website, you can schedule some time with Jon. During this 30 minute call, you can discuss your website needs, take on a little training to help you with your website or ask Jon questions about your website. Plus, you get to have a little chat with him too! During 2021, Jon held 568 training and support Zoom calls and replied to a huge 4334 support emails. In 2021, we fundamentally changed our approach to customer support to provide more direct and personal assistance. Previously, clients might have used a more traditional ticketing system, but we identified a need for direct expert access. The goal was to reduce resolution times and empower our clients to manage their own sites more effectively.
The new system gives every customer the ability to schedule a dedicated 30-minute Zoom call with our lead technician, Jon. This one-on-one time can be used for troubleshooting, asking technical questions, or receiving personalised training. This shift is reflected in the numbers: Jon personally handled 568 support calls and replied to 4334 support emails throughout the year, ensuring no client feels alone after their website goes live.
The Technology Powering Our 2021 Projects
Throughout 2021, our technical team delivered an average of 85 websites in production each month, leveraging robust and scalable technologies to meet diverse client needs. The majority of our builds for service-based businesses like consultants, barristers, and coaches were developed on the WordPress platform, prized for its flexibility and user-friendly content management system (CMS).
For e-commerce clients, such as the clothing companies and food businesses we worked with, our primary solution was building custom online stores using WooCommerce. This allowed for deep customisation of the user experience and integration with various payment gateways. By focusing on these powerful and widely-supported platforms, we ensure our clients receive a final product that is not only professional but also secure and easy to maintain long-term.

Our new service launched in 2021 is a comprehensive digital growth package, created in partnership with social media expert Georgia Portogallo. It was designed to solve a common problem for new businesses: having a great website with no traffic. The service integrates our professional web design process with a targeted social media strategy from day one.
The process begins with building a high-quality website. Simultaneously, Georgia develops a content and engagement strategy for key platforms like Instagram. As seen with our client Bart Horsten, this approach directly translates into measurable results. Georgia's strategy grew his Instagram following, which in turn significantly increased his website traffic. This package provides clients with a cohesive strategy for both their website and social channels, ensuring one powerfully supports the other.
