Firstly, we need to know what you want your domain name to be. This is the address your audience will use to search for your website. You might already have a domain name and so all you need to do is add it in this section of the form. If you don't, you need to consider what you want your web address to be. We will then have to check if this domain name is available. We can support you with this part if necessary.

Website Pages

We have your domain and design choices, now we need to talk about the pages you want on your website. Traditionally, this will include your home page, about us page and services page. This is where you can tell us you want an eCommerce website too (which is included in your package). We will design the first 5 pages of your website, if you require more pages added to your website you can request them here. There will be a small one-off cost for additional pages. However, once your website is up and running, we will train you how to use it so that you can add these pages yourself.

Logo

Do you already have a logo? You can send us this and any other digital assets you have that relate to your brand. Your logo is an integral part of the website build, this is what will make your website stand out as yours. If you don't have a logo, we can help you with this, for a small one-off cost.

Website Content and Imagery

We have all the individual parts of your website, so now we want to know what content you want. You will need the written content and imagery at this point. If you already have these ready, you can share them with us. If you already have your own imagery, you can share these with us. If you don't have access to imagery, we have access to a library of a huge 50 million stock images for you to choose from. The only thing left for you to do is to click the 'build my website' button. We have a lead time of around 10 working days, so you can expect your first draft around that time. If you have any questions at all, you can email support@thewebguys.co.uk. Frequently Asked Questions About Our Sign-Up Process

Here are direct answers to some common questions we receive about getting started with The Web Guys.

  • What happens if my first-choice domain name is already taken?

If your chosen domain is unavailable, we will notify you immediately. Our support specialist, Jon, can help you brainstorm alternative options that are memorable and relevant to your business, or we can check if it is available for purchase from its current owner.

  • What platform do you use to build the websites?

We build our small business websites on WordPress, the world's most popular and flexible Content Management System (CMS). This ensures your site is scalable, secure, and easy for you to manage and add pages to after our training session.

  • Can I change my mind about the website template after I've chosen one?

You can request a change during the initial mock-up phase. Once we begin building out the pages with your content, changing the core template would require significant rework and may incur an additional cost. It is best to be sure when you approve the initial design.

  • What if I don't have professional photos for my website?

While your own photography is always best, we understand not everyone has it ready. We can help you source high-quality, royalty-free stock imagery that aligns with your brand and industry to get your website launched.

Your Website Journey: What to Expect After You Sign Up

Understanding the process helps you plan. After you submit your initial sign-up form, here is a typical timeline of what happens next:

  1. Initial Review (1-2 Business Days): Our team will review your submitted form, checking your domain availability and design choices. We will contact you if we have any immediate questions.
  2. Design Mock-up (3-5 Business Days): Based on your chosen template and assets, we will create an initial design mock-up of your homepage for your review and feedback.
  3. Content Integration (5-7 Business Days): Once the design is approved, we build out the first 5 pages and integrate the content and imagery you provided.
  4. Final Review and Training: We present the completed website for your final approval. After you sign off, we schedule a brief training call to show you how to make basic updates and add new pages yourself.
  5. Go-Live: Your new website is launched and made public on your domain for the world to see!

Why Our Sign-Up Form is So Detailed

We ask for specific details upfront to ensure the website we build is a true reflection of your business and meets your goals from day one. Here’s why each element is so important:

  • Your Domain Name: This is your digital address. Securing the right one immediately is crucial for branding and allows us to configure hosting and email correctly from the start.
  • Design Choice: Choosing a template gives us a strong visual foundation. This saves you thousands in custom design fees and dramatically speeds up the build process, getting your business online faster.
  • Page Requirements: Knowing the pages you need, like Home, About, Services, and Contact, allows us to structure the site navigation logically for your visitors from the very beginning.
  • Logo and Assets: Your brand identity is key. Providing these ensures your website is visually consistent with your other marketing materials, which builds trust with your customers.

What's Included in Your eCommerce Package?

When you tell us you need an eCommerce website, your package includes the essential features to start selling online. We handle the technical setup so you can focus on your products. Our standard eCommerce integration provides:
